Event Support Group Ltd (ESG) aims to offer events a security service with a fresh and alternative approach . The strength of the company lies in the director's extensive experience of events and strong ethos-led approach to security at events. Our aim is for our staff to be non-confrontational and approachable, working closely with the events to create a climate of confidence with both the management and customers. We understand that events, especially festivals, require a sensitive approach from the security team who's primary role is to ensure that everyone remains safe whilst not impinging on people's ability to enjoy themselves. Issues that arise are often not black & white; the old-style doorman mentality, that security personnel are known for, is not appropriate in this environment. The majority of issues can be resolved with the use of good communication. Relatively minor situations can quickly escalate if handled badly and a confrontational approach from the security team is liable to cause friction and create situations that would never otherwise have arisen. Our objective is communication, not intimidation. Our staff selection, and training, makes every effort to break down barriers between the public and the security team. We aim to give event security a human face with friendly staff who treat people with respect. For those whose behaviour crosses the boundaries of acceptability and who do not respond to a communicative approach, our policy is to deal with them appropriately, firmly but fairly. In the past few years we have strengthened our relationship with various event organisers from events including Lost Vagueness at Glastonbury Festival, The Big Green Gathering, Camden Green Fair, Croissant Neuf, Tewekesbury Medieval Festival and the Urban Green Fair. We work at events of all sizes - festivals, parties, one day events, camps or indoor venues. Our level of involvement in several events has given us a strong understanding of the new licensing legislation and we have been involved in various aspects of event planning and the licensing process; including meetings with Responsible Authorities in the lead up to licence hearings. If you are trying to put on an event and finding yourself bogged down with the license application process we can help you produce the necessary documentation and with your communications/negotiations with the Police and local authority. ESG complies fully with the Security Industry Licensing Authority's (SIA) licensing requirements. |
